Korean National Health Insurance Card Holders will be treated same as Korean.
- ①Receive your physician’s referral

The medical law in Korea requires patients with Korean National Health Insurance to go to a primary/secondary level hospital before visiting a tertiary hospital like Chonnam National University Hwasun Hospital. Patients under the Korean National Health Insurance have to bring a referral letter for the Korean National Insurance to be applied.
- Only the following patients below can see a doctor without a referral:
- Delivery patient
- Emergent patient
- Patient with hemophilia
- Dental patient
- Patient on hemodialysis
- The disabled according to Welfare Law for Persons with Disabilities or patients in need of rehabilitation treatment such as occupational or exercise therapy, etc.

- Registration & Payment
- Take a number from queuing machine in front of registration and payment desk.
- Go to the registration and payment desk upon your order to register and pay the consultation fee.
- ID verification is required for patient registration.
- Register Radiological Images
- If you have any medical images or medical reports related to treatment or symptoms, please visit the hospital 30 minutes prior to the appointment time and register them at Medical Records Copy (1st floor) or Medical Image(CD) Register Machine.
- Visit Outpatient Clinic
- After the registration and payment, please present the receipt as well as the referral letter and medical records of the primary or secondary level hospital to the staff of the outpatient department.
- ④Consultation

Please request medical certificate or medical records from the doctor or the outpatient staffs, if needed.
※You may have to wait or may have to make an appointment for another day if you visit the hospital without a prior appointment.
- ⑤Payment

- Please follow the instruction of the staff after the consultation.
- In some cases you may need to take examinations or treatments.
- Make payment for the examinations and/or treatments at the registration and payment desk.
- ⑥Examination (or Treatment)

- Proceed with examinations or treatments
- The examinations or treatments may be performed on the same day or scheduled for another day.
- In case any extra charges added after the examinations or treatments, please complete payment at the registration and payment desk.
- ⑦Prescription & Return Home

- In case of prescription,
- Please pick up your prescription at the registration and payment desk. (2 copies : 1 for the patient, 1 for the pharmacy)
- You have to buy the prescribed medicine at a pharmacy outside of the hospital with the prescription.
- Most medications prescribed at the outpatient clinic are usually not included in the outpatient payment bill.

- Chonnam National University Hwasun Hospital has been cooperating with International SOS, AETNA, CIGNA International, Metlife, etc. I your insurance company is under contract to the agencies mentioned above, please contact your insurance company for a GOP (Guarantee of Payment) letter prior to the appointment date.
- Note for the Appointment
- Please bring the medical records (e.g. images, result of examinations, etc.) from the other hospital, if you have.
- Making an appointment on the same day may not be possible and appointment schedule may vary by each department.

You can pick up medication at the outpatient pharmacy.
(But, for the unavailable medicine at the outpatient pharmacy, you have to buy the prescribed medicine at a pharmacy outside of the hospital with the prescription.)- Before returning home, please request the required documents as below, if needed:
- English receipt : Registration/payment desk (Request, Issue)
- Medical certificate : Doctor of the department (Request), Registration/payment desk (Issue)
- Medical records copy : Staff of the department (Request), Medical Records Copy desk (Issue)
